Pondalowie Bay Islands No. 3 - Innes National Park - Dhilba Guuranda National Park - South Australia - May 2025.
Sometimes, in order to get a good long exposure photo, I must admit that I look for unusual angles. And even if the weather doesn't seem to be cooperating, my experience tells me that sometimes when the weather is unstable and cloudy, that's precisely when I get the most dramatic photos. This photo, for example, was taken from a cliff face protruding by the sea at twilight. The sea was rough and very windy for it was almost winter in the southern Hemisphere and the Southern Ocean tends to become a bit more temperamental as the video below, can demonstrate.
I took a sequence of shots using my old Nikon D800 on a tripod, with a wide-angle lens and a 4-second exposure. I used a polarizing filter and a depth of field of 22. The result was quite satisfactory. Well, at least for me. ;)
